Biography

Pai Min Htet was born in 1986 in Mandalay, Myanmar. He specializes in canvas oil paintings and unique and creative contemporary art. He is an artist who primarily creates figurative paintings using the medium of oil paint, focusing on depicting human figures, human behavior, actions, characters, and emotional expressions in a series-by-series manner. He creates each series uniquely, representing different aspects from year to year. He has created multiple series of paintings, each based on distinct concepts, which he has explained in detail to provide a deeper understanding of the themes behind each series.
In his childhood, he studied under the instruction of artist Aung Khin. Aung Khin’s daughter, Cho Cho Aung, founded the Panthu Sanda Children’s Art Centre. Pai Min Htet currently studies painting and drawing under artist Soe Win Aung at Mandalay Fine Arts School and Tin Htay Aung, Ph.D. (Fine Art), alongside other painters and sculptors. He graduated from Yadanabon University in Mandalay with a Bachelor of Laws degree.
In addition to art, Pai Min Htet is also a photographer and videographer, with experience in travel, cultural, portrait, and candid photography. His cinematography has been credited in films, music videos, and documentaries. He began his modern oil paintings in 2018, with his style mainly influenced by Cubism and Expressionism. His unique characters are usually in the form of wooden sculptures, reflecting symbolism and figurative painting.
Pai Min Htet continues to create remarkable works of art today, and his talents allow him to reach new artistic heights. In 2023, he joined Chiang Mai University for a Master’s degree in Visual Arts, also exploring other new creative endeavors.
